Breast asymmetry is a not uncommon but often well-hidden “structural” irregularity of the breasts, affecting their shape or size. When the difference in breast size is significant, a woman usually tries to conceal her chest and also faces practical difficulties, such as choosing underwear, swimwear, clothing, and more.

In such cases, for aesthetic, psychological, and practical reasons, it is truly beneficial for the woman to undergo a procedure that will “balance” the size of the two breasts, while at the same time improving their overall appearance.
For breast asymmetry, Plastic Surgeon G. Chorti selects a different technique depending on the type and extent of the condition. All techniques preserve breast function and sensitivity, with no impact on breastfeeding. Such techniques may include:
- Liposuction and removal of skin around the breast with simple detachment of the nipple, in cases where the difference is small and manageable
- Bilateral breast augmentation using different-sized implants in each breast in order to achieve balance
- Breast reduction on one side
- Augmentation on one breast and reduction on the other
