Gynecomastia in Men

Gynecomastia is the presence of protruding breast tissue in men, due to an increased mammary gland mass and the accumulation of localized fat.

It mainly appears during adolescence and is caused by hormonal imbalances, hormone intake, dietary habits, or significant weight fluctuations.

It often regresses after the end of puberty; therefore, surgical treatment should not be performed before the age of 18 unless there are specific medical reasons.

Plastic Surgeon Georgia Chorti treats many cases solely with liposuction and skin removal through a very small incision around the nipple, which is barely noticeable and gradually fades. The entire procedure can be performed at the clinic under local anesthesia.

When there is excessive development of the mammary gland, surgery is performed in the operating room under general anesthesia.

Initially, the excess glandular tissue is removed, and the male chest returns to its normal flat contour. The scars are hidden within the nipple area.

Hospital stay is 24 hours, return to daily activities occurs within 3 days, and full return to athletic activities after 3 weeks.

The results are particularly satisfying, significantly enhancing male self-confidence and psychological well-being.
