Laser Removal of Moles and Nodules

Moles and cysts on the face or body, for many reasons, should be removed. Plastic Surgeon G. Chorti has extensive experience and the required equipment at the PROFILE Center for the safe removal of moles and sebaceous cysts on the face and body, achieving the smallest possible scar.

Moles

Moles, commonly known as “beauty marks,” are benign pigmented skin lesions. Almost everyone has moles, and some people have many. Moles may be flat or raised, have well-defined borders, and vary in color.

Mole examination is safely performed by a dermatologist, who carries out dermoscopy and mapping for the early detection of any changes. If there are reasons for removing a mole to prevent potential malignant transformation, the patient is referred to a plastic surgeon for removal and biopsy.

Sebaceous Cysts

A sebaceous cyst is formed due to blockage of a sebaceous gland, resulting in sebum (a substance that lubricates the skin) being unable to drain normally and instead accumulating in one area beneath the skin, forming a cyst. The cyst is soft, palpable, and benign, and may develop anywhere on the body or face. If it becomes infected, inflammation occurs and the cyst becomes red, painful, and warm.

If the cyst is not surgically removed in a timely manner, it will continue to grow. If inflammation is present, it must first subside with appropriate treatment; otherwise, incision and drainage of the cyst may be required.

Plastic Surgeon G. Chorti has extensive experience in cyst removal, achieving excellent aesthetic results. The procedure is performed at our Center under local anesthesia and lasts approximately 15–30 minutes.
